Piusoord

Piusoord was the name of an institution located at Bredaseweg 570 west of Tilburg.

The main building was initiated in 1938 as "Monastery of the Monastery" of the Brothers Penitents. From 1945 to 1953 the Sanatorium De Klokkenberg was located here. This continued as Medical Center de Klokkenberg in Breda.

In 1954, this facility was designed for the care of the mentally disabled because the waiting lists for their other institutions became too long. In 1967, Piusoord, together with the five other institutions of the brothers, was housed in the Daniël de Brouwer Foundation. This foundation was no longer directed directly by the brothers. However, they stayed at Mariahof. In 1987, this foundation was relegated. In the nineties, the name of Piusoord was changed to "Amarant".
