Schindleria is a genus of fish belonging to the order of the Perciformes. It is the only genus within the monotypic family of the Schindleriidae and counts three described species. However, around the Riukiu islands, some other species still exist that are not yet described.
Schindleria retains many of their larval characteristics. Their body remains transparent throughout their lives and many of their bones remain undeveloped. All members of the Schindleria live in reefs. Described species
