Dirk Zeper


Dirk Zeper (Leeuwarden, February 2, 1803 - Leeuwarden, February 21, 1881) was a Dutch mayor. Career

Zeper was a son of Pier Zeper, Drew and Mayor, and Fenna Hesselink. His brother Albert Zeper became mayor in Ten Boer and Hoogeveen. Zeper is a family of soapzieders and took over his father's case. He followed his father in the city politics in 1843. He was a councilor (1843-1865), Alderman (1849-1853 and 1855-1865) and May 1865 in Leeuwarden. He was appointed to Knight in the Order of the Dutch Lion in 1868. Due to health problems, he was resolutely fired in 1871. He passed away ten years later, at the age of 78.

In Leeuwarden, a street called him was called the Dirk Zeperweg in the former ISSB quarter. This is almost equal to the former Houtstraat.
