The Golden Arrow was one of the first streamlined record breakers with a pointed nose and cut over all parts. He was equipped with a plane engine Napier Lion with a 23.9 liter capacity, delivering 690 kilowatt and an aluminum body. The engine was originally developed to be deployed at the Schneider Trophy. The cooling did not happen via a radiator but via refrigerant flowing through ice, stored in the side compartments.
