Introduction into the analysis of infinity, 1748
Introductio in analysisin infinitorum (An introduction to the infinite analysis) is a two-piece work by Leonhard Euler, laying the foundations for the mathematical analysis. Published in 1748, the Introductio contains 18 chapters in the first part and 22 chapters in the second part.
In a lecture in 1950 at the International Mathematics Congress, Carl Boyer compared the influence of Eulers Introductio with Euclides' Elements. He called the Elements the main textbook of antiquity, and the introduction "The main textbook of modern times." Footnotes Externe link
