A Liège Vrijdorp is a village owned by the blanket and the chapter in Liège.
The villages were donated by princes to the cathedral dwellings. This is in contrast to the goods of the Princebisdom Liège, which were usually inherited by the Prince Bishop by battle or inheritance. The villages enjoyed a much greater independence than the villages in the prinsbisdom, even though they were usually also counted as prinsbisdom.
