A service is a service-providing institution in public law and corporate law.
A service is often part of a larger company or an organization with an administrative function, such as a local or national government (municipality, government, etc.). The service, in turn, operates independently in a specific field or service area within this larger organization. In this context, it is often also referred to as an internal service, in contrast to an external service that operates from the outside.
This concerns a public or non-public institution. When the service operates clandestinely, a secret service is spoken.
