Tempa Tsering


Tempa Tsering (Tibet, May 15, 1950) is a Tibetan politician. Since August 2006 he has been minister of the Tibetan government in exile, for the Foreign Minister. In addition to this function, he has been the representative of the fourteenth dalai lama Tenzin Gyatso in the Indian capital of New Delhi since 2007. Life

Tempa Tsering grew on India after his family had fled to exile in the fifties. He went to high school in Kalimpong and obtained the bachelor's degree the Madras Christian College in Madras. He was a member of the Central Executive Committee and later Adviser to the Tibetan Youth Congress.

Since 1973, he has worked as an interpreter and secretary for the Tibetan government in exile, first for the office of the Tibetan settlement in Bylakuppe. Then he worked for the Ministry in exile for Information and International Relations and the Dalai Lama Office.

In 2000 he was elected Minister of Agriculture for the Ministry of Housing. He was chosen from a list compiled by the Dalai Lama and served until the government end of the kashag in 2001. In 2006, he was nominated again by the Lobsang Tenzin for Kalön, this time for the Ministry of Information and International Relations. That same year he was appointed by the Tibetan Parliament in exile on this position; a year later he became a representative of the Dalai Lama in New Delhi. Also see
