The Bruggenloop is a running event on a 15-kilometer trail in Rotterdam, which has been held annually since 1986.
The Bruggenloop runs over six bridges in Rotterdam, including the Erasmus bridge, Van Brienenoord bridge and the Boerengat bridge. Initially, the race was held in February, since 2009 it was programmed just before Christmas. Both in 2009 and 2010, the course, for which 5,000 runners had been registered in 2010, had to be canceled because of the snow.
In 2016, Dutchman Khalid Choukoud improved with a time of 45.25 the trail record.
