Christina van Bolsena (died: 304) also known as Christina of Tire and in the Eastern Orthodox churches as Christina the Great Martyr is a 4th century martyr.
The origin of Christina van Bolsena is doubtful. According to the Eastern traditions, she was born in Tyrus in the present Lebanon. According to Western tradition, she was born in Persia. Her Italian surname is the result of an early worship in Bolsena (Italy). Legend
The legend about Bolsena's Christina tells us that a young and beautiful woman underwent several severe tortures because of her father because she did not want to sacrifice pagan gods and did not want to deny Christianity. When her father died, a Roman magistrate continued the work, but God caused her torturers to die prematurely. Eventually, she died by a lance stitch. Relics
The Italian cities of Toffia and Palermo both claim to be in possession of the relics of Christina van Bolsena. Sources
