Stanley August Miesegaes

Stanley August (Sam) Miesegaes († 1990) was a Dutch millionaire living in Switzerland. Miesegaes financed the first two studio albums of Supertramp in the 1970s.

In 1969, Miesegaes in Munich saw an appearance of singer-keyboardist Rick Davies and his band The Joint. Miesegaes was very impressed with Davies' musical talent and offered him a cash sum. The condition was that Davies would shape his own new band. That became the band Supertramp. After financing the first two albums, Miesegaes stopped financial support. The next album, Crime of the Century (1974), was assigned to Miesegaes. Since then, nothing has been learned about him in the field of music finance.

The total amount Miesegaes put into the tire amounts to 60,000 pounds.
