Dragoş Vodă Cernăuţi was a Romanian football club from Chernivtsi, a city belonging to Austria-Hungary, Romania and the Soviet Union, which is currently in Ukraine. History
The club was founded in 1909, although some sources also say 1907 and 1908 as the Rumänischer Fußballklub Czernowitz. After the city of Austria was transferred to Romania, the name was changed to Dragoş Vodă Cernăuţi. Dragoş is the legendary founder of the Principality of Moldova in 1352.
The club participated in the regional championships of Czernowitz. In 1928/29, the club became a champion and therefore placed the Romanian land title for the final round. The club won two matches and won in the semi-final reports by Venus Bucharest. The next season, the club set itself up for the final, but was immediately discontinued. In 1932/33 the club became a champion again, but in the meantime a competition was set up for the whole country. The club played a playoff against Braşovia Braşov to be taken in Divizia A, but lost. After a new title in 1935, the club promoted to Divizia B (second class). In 1937 the club graduated to the highest class. There the club became final and degraded. After the Second World War, the club disappeared.
Dragoş Vodă is the only club in the city of Cernăuţi, who managed to play in the Romanian highest class. Besides Jahn Czernowitz, no other club could win a match in the final round of the Romanian title.
