Cornelis Johannes (Kees) de Ruijter (1949) is a Dutch emeritus professor in practical theology. Career
He studied theology at the Theologische Hogeschool in Kampen and then became a preacher in Sneek and Rotterdam for the Reformed Churches. He returned to this university in 1990 to become a university lecturer, in 1992 he obtained his doctorate with Prof. Dr. Cornelis Trimp (1926-2012) and on May 26, 1993 he inaugured this university as a professor, which he remained until September 2014 On the occasion of his retirement as a professor, a mini-symposium was organized on September 11, 2014 about his latest project Culture as a context for Practical Theology, and his valedictory lecture was titled Church on a cultural crossroads.
