RUS Fleurusienne

RUS Fleurusienne was a Belgian football club from Fleurus. The club was affiliated with the KBVB with trunk number 99. The club was one of the older clubs in the country, but never played in the national series. History

The club was founded in March 1909 as Etoile Sportive Fleurusienne. In March 1914 one joined the Belgian Football Association. The club remained in the regional series of games and was granted number 99 in the introduction of the tribe numbers in 1926. At the 25th anniversary of 1934, the club became royal and became Royale Etoile Sportive Fleurusienne (RES Fleureusienne).

In 1962 the club name was changed to Royale Union Fleurusienne (RUS Fleurusienne). That same year, another Fleurus fleet, namely Royal Fleurus Sports, was joined to the football federation since 1929 with the number 1451. However, there was no official merger.

In 1978, the club finally merged with Sporting Club Lambusart (SC Lambusart). This club from Lambusart, meanwhile a Fleurus suburb, was founded in 1949, joined the CBFA with the number 5192 and has always been active in the provincial series. The fusion club was called Sporting Club Lambusart-Fleurus and continued with Lambusart's trunk number 5192. The old trunk number 99 of Fleurus was finally deleted.

The fusion club continued to play in the Henegouwen provincial series and, in the second half of the 1990s, would even reach the national series. At a subsequent merger in 2002, RJS developed Heppignies-Lambusart-Fleurus.
