Trigezio

Trigezio (Latin: Trygetius; floruit 423-452; ... - ...) was a politician of the West Roman Empire, famous for attending the delegation that convinced Attila to bring his Horns out of 'Italy. Biography modifies wikitesto

Trigezio was probably the father of Memmio Emilio Trigezio and Memmio Emilio Probo, so it is probable that he was also called Memmio Emilio.

In 423 it is attested by the Western Comes rerum privatarum.

In 435 he led the Roman delegation who agreed to peace between the Romans and the Vandals, February 11 of that year, in Hippo, Africa.

In 452, along with the ex-consul Gennadio Avieno and the bishop of Rome Leone, he attended the delegation he met with Attila, who descended in Italy with his Huns, and convinced him to retire. On this occasion it is defined by the sources «vir praefectorius»; it could be a honorary title, or mean that he had ruled the prefecture, the pretoria or the Ubeba.
