Claudio Cangiotti (Genoa, November 7, 1947 - Highway A1, April 20, 2012) was an Italian chess player.

His victory is of particular importance in the history of Italian chess because he ended the dominance of Giorgio Porreca, who came to the XXIV Championship after seven wins, of which six consecutive. The tournament was decided by the direct confrontation, in which Cangiotti battled Porreca, to which it would be enough to become a champion again.
