Daymark (ship)

A daymark is an object with a geometric shape placed in a mast of a ship or buoy to provide information to ships in the vicinity.

These trademarks always have a black color, because at sea this color is best seen from a wide distance. They differ in meaning by their specific form. These shapes are: sphere, cone, cylinder and diamond, so that they are recognized in each direction as resp. circle, triangle, rectangle and diamond. These trademarks can also be used in combination.

Minimum daily dimensions are required, with the exception of the cone, the height will always be twice the length of the base. The space between the trademarks must be at least 1.5 m.
