Dirk de Loor


Dirk de Loor is a former Dutch politician and teacher.

Dirk de Loor was a member of the Provincial States of Friesland for seven years. In addition, he was a member of the Lower House for the PvdA since 1948. From 1953 to 1965 he was Mayor of Delft. From 1955 he combined that with the membership of the First Chamber.

After completing his career in politics, he mainly engaged in organ playing and painting. In addition, at the age of thirty he successfully completed his study pedagogy. De Loor died in 1992.

De Loor's father was a Rotterdam-based port worker who died during hunger winter. His son Chris de Loor was first Mayor of Appingedam and thereafter from Epe.
