4: front eye chamber
The front eye chamber or camera anterior bulbi oculi is the space in the eye that is located between the cornea and the iris. Due to the extra curvature of the cornea and the large difference in the refractive index of the moisture in the foremost eye chamber and the air, the front eye chamber forms a strong lens, with a strength of approximately 43 diopters. The actual eyelid, which is behind the iris, with unaccompanied strength of about 15 diopters, fills this strength to a total strength of the eye of about 58 diopters. Literatuurverwijzingen
