On the front bone, on both sides of the front suture, about 3 cm. above the overburnal margin, there is a rounded protuberance, the front elevation (front tubercle).
These eminences vary greatly among the various individuals in terms of size, are on some occasions asymmetric, and are especially prominent in young bones; the surface of the bone above them is smooth, and covered by the aponeurotic galea.
