I, Jan Cremer is a novel, originally made up of a two-piece. The first part was published in 1964 and the second, "Jan Janmer, Second Book" in 1966. The publications caused a lot of controversy, so the writer and visual artist Jan Cremer quickly gained fame.

It is a modern schelm novel, presented as an autobiography, based on personal experiences. Especially the explicit description of sexual experiences in the second part caused the necessary stirring.

The literary critics were unanimously puzzled by the literary critics because of lacking literary quality, but achieved an unprecedented edition of the Netherlands and created an international breakthrough by the author as a writer and visual artist.

In 2008, 44 years after his first book, 'Jan Cremer Third Book' appeared. In that, the writer describes the downside of the success that his first two books brought him. Issue History Book 1 and 2

Both books appeared as 'literary giant pockets' at The Bee Bee. The books experienced many pressures, 52st print appeared in 2008. It was translated into many languages, including in English and German.

In later editions, both books are often merged into one band. Edits

In 1985, the novel was edited by Lennaert Nijgh and Gerard Stellaard to rock musician Jan Cremer. However, the implementation was not successful.
