Peter Collins (music producer)

Peter Julian Alexander Collins (London, January 15, 1951) is a British guitarist and music producer.

In 1976, Collins concluded a record deal with Magnet Records and directed the Madison group to record his "Let It Ring" pop song. The single, on the B-side "My Girl Do not Do That", reached the 45th place in the UK Singles Chart, was turned on BBC Radio 1 and later released a Japanese edition.

Collins moved to the United States in 1985, where he worked for Rush. He made more use of synthesizers on his albums Power Windows (1985) and Hold Your Fire (1987). After that, he produced Operation: Mindcrime, a Queensrÿche rock opera from 1988. At the request of Rush's band members, Collins produced the Counterparts (1993) and Test for Echo (1996) albums.

He has provided production work for Alice Cooper, Bon Jovi, Suicidal Tendencies, Indigo Girls, Jane Wiedlin, October Project, The Cardigans and Tracey Ullman.
