Aniano Desierto (Cebu City, April 25, 1935) was a Philippine lawyer and from 1995 to 2002 the Philippine Ombudsman.
Desierto graduated from Associate in Arts at the University of San Carlos in Cebu City. Then he continued his studies at the University of the Philippines where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree and Bachelor's degree. In 1958 he passed his entrance examination (bar exam) for the Philippine counter.
From 1961 to 1974, Desierto worked at commercial law firms in Cebu and Manila. From 1974 he worked in public service. He began as Judge Advocate, after which he was appointed as Deputy Judge Advocate General in 1988. From 1 April 1991 until 3 August 1995 he served as a special prosecutor with the Philippine Ombudsman. On August 4, he was appointed as Ombudsman by former President Fidel Ramos.
