Chiang Peng-lung


Chiang Peng Lung (澎 龍 蔣 - Taipei, July 24, 1976) is a Taiwanese professional table tennis player. He won bronze in the single-game tournament of the 2001 World Championships and, together with Chang Yen-shu, two other medals of that color in the 2001 and 2007 World Cup. Peng-lung made his debut on the international (senior) circuit at the 1993 World Championships in Gothenburg. From that moment on, it was six years to wait for his first continental tournament victory. In 1999, he missed a hair after the title at the only held edition of the Asia Top 12, because Kong Linghui buried him through the nose in the final.

At the Asian Championship 2000, Taiwanese won the single and doubles. For this he scored in the individual finals with the South Korean Kim Taek-soo. Peng-lung also won his final double-partner Yen-shu in the doubles by counting on Cheung Yuk and Leung Chu Yan from Hong Kong.

Although the 2000 Peng-lung Asian Championships won his first Asian tournament stages, he already wrote the first titles on the ITTF Pro Tour in 1999. With Yen-shu won both the Qatar Open and the German Open, while in the Open Open he won his first tournament victory in the singles game. The Taiwanese took place in 1999 (singles), 2000, 2001 (both single and double games) and 2003 (single game) for the ITTF Pro Tour Grand Finals.
