The Dutch Butterfly Team (DBT) is a selection of young (minimum 15 years), talented table tennis players from the Netherlands under the leadership of coach Danny Heister. The initiative was established in 2007 by the Dutch Table Tennis Bond. The purpose of the DBT is to guide young players in combining sports and study. Thus they need to be prepared for playing at international level, enabling Dutch players to join the European Summit.
Players enrolled in the DBT get the chance to live and / or train at the National Sport Center Papendal. Selected players remain independent of the extra opportunities offered by their own clubs. This does not have to be in a Dutch league. Members
