Equestrian statue Willem III (Breda)

Monument Willem III

The monument of King City Holder Willem III is a equestrian statue at the Castle Square in the city center of Breda (in the city center). It is within walking distance of the Breda Castle and the Begijnhof. The image was unveiled on October 8, 1921 and was designed by Toon Dupuis.

In 1902 a National Committee was set up to establish a statue for Willem III in the Netherlands. The choice for placement in Breda was due to the close ties that the city had with the Huis Oranje-Nassau. Also see 51° 35′ 23″ NB, 4° 46′ 34″ OL
