Karel Bernard Callebert (Roeselare, May 21, 1837 - Blankenberge, October 7, 1900) was a Flemish priest and writer. He taught in Kortrijk until 1870 and subsequently became a chaplain in the West Vlaamse Koekelare until 1876, after which he fulfilled the same function in Torhout. He was the grandmother of pianist Cecilia Callebert (1884-1978).
Callebert was a member of the weekly magazine Rond den Heerd, the magazine of Guido Gezelle. With Eugeen Van Oye and Hugo Verriest, Callebert is considered the first generation of Gezelle students. His Christian-inspired work includes the novels Jan Onraedt (1868) and Paul and Isabelle (1870) as well as the drama in five companies, Godefried and Roeland (1883). Externe link
