Mathurin Jacques Brisson
Mathurin Jacques Brisson (Fontenay-le-Comte, April 30, 1723 - Croissy-sur-Seine, June 23, 1806) was a French nature researcher, especially a zooologist and later philosopher of nature.
Brisson initially focused on the natural history and published works such as Le Règne animal (1756) and Ornithology (1760). In 1759 he became a member of the Académie des Sciences.
After the death of his assistant R.A.F. Réaumur stopped with natural history publications and was appointed professor of natural philosophy in Navarre and later in Paris. His main work in this genre was Pesanteur Spécifique des Corps (1787). Publications
