Born in Sorengo, near Lugano in 1965. In 2000, he entered politics with the Ticino League and in 2004 became a municipal in Chiasso becoming vice-president since 2008 by directing the Public Safety and Drinking Water Dicastery. Its policy, in line with that of its party, is based on the defense of Swiss values, such as independence and neutrality. In the same year he joined the Committee of Heads of Swiss Police of the Dicastery. In 2011, he was elected together with Lorenzo Quadri to the National Council, the Swiss Parliament, entering the Commission of Political Institutions.
