Kovin (Serbian: Ковин) is a municipality in the Serbian district of Southern Banat. Kovin employs 36,802 inhabitants (2002). The area is 730 km², the population density is 50.4 inhabitants per km².

The municipality encompasses the towns of Kovin, Bavanište, Gaj, Deliblato, Dubovac, Malo Bavanište, Mramorak, Pločica, Skorenovac and Šumarak. The last two villages have a Hungarian population belonging to the Hungarian native minority in Serbia. Skorenovac (Hungarian: Székelykeve) is the southernmost village with a Hungarian majority. There were about 2500 Hungarians living in 2002, representing over 85% of the population. Born in Kovin
