Widow of Beurden

The Widow of Beurden (sometimes known as the Widow of Buer) was a type that was regularly heard in the VPRO radio program Ronflonflon with Jacques Plafond of Wim T. Schippers, which was broadcast from 1984 to 1991. The voice of The Widow of Beurden was spoken by actor Janine van Elzakker, who also voted for Wilhelmina Kuttje Jr., Jacqueline van Benthem, Elsje de Wit, and Anneke Rol in the same program. In the beginning, however, her voice was spoken by Schippers herself and was resident in Beverwijk.

The widow was an old-age lady, had a trembling cracking voice and lived in Bennekom. She always suggested: "I am the widow of Beurden, for so called my husband." She also always called: "I'm voting for the CHU because that did my husband too". Instead of tea, she drank a "young claw" or a "tip of Bootz". Regularly she called someone up to the order with the words: "Not so cursed (young man), I'm the widow of Beurden". She also regularly sang her song "I'm the widow of Beurden".

Her grandson Jaap Knasterhuis (Rogier Proper) regularly visited her and handed little care for her, such as the repair of a garden gate, and then came live with a film tip with her in the broadcast. In the background, a tail bell was often heard. Her husband, Mr. van Beurden, was wrong in World War II and came to life. He had been hiding with the enemy, including those from Japan. The widow committed himself to all kinds of ludicrous actions, such as the liberation of Lebanon

The type had some resemblance to the widow Florrie Rost van Tonningen-Heubel.

In the television program series derived from the radio program, the widow did not come across the floor. However, there is a widow's drawing on which she has a nose, an inverted toothless mouth and an excellent chin. Externe link
