An opinion (Indo-Moan moino: exchange, exchange) is a human opinion, or attitude, relative to states, events or other persons. Both an individual and a group can have an opinion. An opinion refers to a subject. By expressing an opinion, you make known how you think about it.

An opinion in a statement and the essential mission of the opinion is a valuation or assessment. An opinion shows how someone sees something. When two or more people hold a different opinion, we speak of a difference of opinion.

An opinion is created on the basis of own experience and knowledge within the context of its own social environment and character, and is a consequence of cognitive thinking, which always results from individual views influenced by what is valid within society. Usually, ethics are seen here. In politics, the exchange of different opinions and views is called a debate. Ultimately, the opinion will win with most fans.

An opinion may, among other things, concern the extent to which something is ethically good or bad. Such an opinion is also called a value judgment.
