The single How To Rob was probably a tribute to gangster Kelvin Martin, known in the 80's as 50 Cent. He often robbed celebrities, such as LL Cool J and Rakim. The rapper 50 Cent has taken over the nickname and wanted to show he liked Kelvin Martin.
Just after releasing the single, 50 Cent said it was a joke and that it was not intended to offend other rappers. Yet some colleagues were angry because they were called and they responded to their own music. Wu Tang Clan replied to an album by Ghostface Killah, called Supreme Clientele. Raekwon, who was also mentioned, responded with the song "Who The Fuck Is 50 Cent" and Jay-Z responded to the song It's Hot, as follows:
"Go against Jigga yo' ass is dense I'm about a dollar, what the fuck is 50 Cents?"
Sticky Fingaz and Big Pun also responded to How To Rob. Big Pun did that with the following text:
