Jan Hassink

Jan Hendrik (Jan) Hassink (Amsterdam, April 6, 1902 - Eindhoven, July 26, 1927) was a Dutch footballer.

Hassink had transferred from Amsterdam to PSV because he got a job at Philips. He played two seasons for Ajax and played 21 matches in total. In 1925 he went to PSV, which was just downgraded to the second class. In that season he made his debut in the Dutch Elftal as a second-class. One year later, PSV was back on the highest level and Hassink played fourteen matches in which he scored three times, but he was no longer called for Dutch Elftal. Hassink came out twice for Orange and was the first PSV in 1926 to succeed. He died at the age of 25 of the consequences of a motor crash. With his Harley Davidson unfortunately he fell as he passed a group of accompanying cyclists. Hassink was buried at Zorgvlied. Also see
