Angostillo is a farm dedicated to cattle breeding founded by the family of the Lagunes family in the first decades of the nineteenth century. Incorporating initially an extension of several hundred acres, following the Mexican Revolution of 1910, its lands were partially expropriated and distributed among the peasants of the region.

Today is a fraction of the Paso de Ovejas municipality in the state of Veracruz. It has about 800 inhabitants. At the center of the inhabited core is the small nineteenth century church dedicated to the Immaculate Conception, characterized by the turquoise blue color of the façade and the two sailboats that flank the portal. It counts elementary (primary) and middle school (secundaria). The main activities of the inhabitants remain cattle breeding (cows and pigs) and agriculture (corn, papaya, black beans and chili pepper).
