Award for Remembrance to Frederick VIII

The Victory Ceremony to Frederick VIII (Danish: "Kong Frederik den Ottendes Mindetegn") is a Danish award.

This medal was set on 29 July 1912 by King Christian X of Denmark and was granted to the military personnel who stood guard at the King's funeral and transported his remains. Another source gives the 28 adjutants, serving or former chiefs of staff and wing adjutants as the bearers of this award.

The award took the form of a chestneck silver monogram worn by the deceased King Frederick VIII of Denmark under a silver king's crown. 28 copies of this decoration for the military staff of the deceased monarch were awarded. The decoration was attached to the clothing with two braces.

The monogram consists of two mirrored letters "F" that are entwined with each other and with an "8".

To indicate the possession of this award, a red silk baton was worn on the left chest with a woven white cross. Also see
