Louis-Auguste Sabatier

Louis-Auguste Sabatier

Louis-Auguste Sabatier (Vallon-Pont-d'Arc, 1839 - Paris, 1901) was a French theologian.

He studied at the Protestant theological faculty of Montauban, after which he moved to Tubingen and then to Heidelberg. He held the pastor at Aubenas from 1864 to 1868, so he went on to teach theology in Strasbourg. During the Franco-Prussian War he sympathized with the French, and in 1872 he was expelled from Strasbourg. He then settled in Paris, where he obtained the chair at the Sorbonne.
