Periodontal ligament

The ligamentary periodontal or periodontal ligament is a group of fibers that hold the tooth in the gums. The ends penetrate as Sharpey's fibers into the cement and jawbone. The ligamentary periodontal is between the bone and the tooth. In the healthy situation, each tooth or choose play through the impetus of the ligamentary periodontal. If a tooth or dial is grown directly in the bone, one speaks of an ankylotic element. This tooth or choice therefore does not have the physiological mobility or play of a healthy tooth or choice.
