The Iron mill of Rijsbergen was a watermill on the Turfvaart, near the current Floodweide in Rijsbergen. History

The mill was built in 1763 for Johan Frederik Hoffman, the merchant in Rotterdam. She acted as an iron mill and pushed the hammers with an iron platter. The Hoffman family continued for many years, although the mill was temporarily suspended in 1821. In 1844 iron platter was discontinued for business reasons. In 1852 the mill was sold to Hermanus van der Steenstraat. This was an oil mill and the iron mill of Rijsbergen was converted into oil mill in 1855. However, in 1856 the company had already stopped. The mill was sold and demolished in the same year. External source
