Jaden Buddhist Temple


The Jaden Buddhist Temple is a great Buddhist temple in Shanghai, which has chan-buddhism and Pure Land Buddhism as streams. The temple was founded in 1882. The temple contains two Buddha statues made of jade, hence the name Jaden Buddha Temple. The jade came from Burma. The temple has several halls and a vegetarian restaurant and is a tourist attraction. The temple is the seat of the Buddhist Society of Shanghai. The entrance to the temple costs twenty Renminbi.
