Ocean Drive is a one and a half mile long street in the south of American Miami Beach and is part of the Art Deco District. Ocean Drive runs largely along a park with a wide beach behind it.
The street is one of the city's emblems and is known for its 800 buildings. These are built in Art Deco and Cubic style. These are largely hotels and bars painted in pastel colors. Many of these buildings are illuminated by neon lights in the evening.
A striking building on Ocean Drive is Casa Casuarina (also known as Versace Mansion). This hotel is not built in Art Deco but in Mediterranean Revival architecture. Trivia
