Vratavallei

The Vratavallei is a valley (south) south of Mojstrana belonging to the municipality of Kranjska Gora in the Gorenjska region and located in the Julian Alps in northwestern Slovenia.

At the end of the valley in the southwest lies Triglav Mountain in Triglav National Park.

In the Vrata Valley, the Peričnik waterfall consists of stairs of 16 and 52 meters. Through the valley lies the Triglavska cesta road (No. 908) which is about 12 km long, largely untouched and a number of slopes up to 25%. The road runs next to the Bistrica River, which opens into the Sava Dolinka. At the end of the road there is a view of the north wall (1500 m) of the Triglav. In the surrounding area is a hut Aljažev Dom (1015 m), named after Father Jacob Aljaž, who was a major mountain climbing promoter, who built the hut nearby (1896). This cabin was destroyed by a avalanche in 1910 and replaced by the present. Somewhat further is a monument posted for fallen alpinists.
