Bitdefender is a shareware antivirus package developed by Softwin, a Romanian software company. The package must be purchased and it is possible to download a test version.
HistoryBitdefender replaces the AVX (AntiVirus eXpert) series. Between 1996 and 2001, AVX became a world-wide product offering clever updates without the intervention of a user. There was also a browser at the package, in which all downloads were monitored and scanned. Since the sixth generation, AVX had the first technology to detect suspicious behaviors and was also the first to deliver personal firewall features.
