Drill and Spade, in English Auger and Spade, was the title of a publication series published between 1948 and 1981 by the Foundation for Soil Mapping. The subtitle featured Spread contributions to the knowledge of the soil of the Netherlands.

Drill and Spade started in 1948 as a series for the publication of articles relating to the field of soil science. The series was released in the early years under the guidance of Prof. Cornelis Edelman, Director of the Foundation. The purpose of the publication was to establish a good link between the work of the Foundation and all those who have a direct interest in the Dutch soil. Results of soil markings appeared in reports, but for example, nominations were a place in Boor and Spade. By changing insights, in 1981, the publication of Part 20 pulled the plug out of the series. It had now expanded into a series in which articles in the field of historical geography could also be used. For the Green Knowledge program, the whole series has been digitized.
