Guillermo González Camarena (Guadalajara, February 17, 1917 - Las Lajas, April 18, 1965) was a Mexican engineer. González Camarena is famous for his invention of a color television broadcast system.

González Camarena was born in Guadalajara but moved to Mexico City at a young age. He graduated as an engineer at the National Polytechnic Institute (IPN). He made his invention in 1940, and received a patent in 1942. On February 8, 1963, he presented the first color program on Mexican television, paraíso infantil, at the XHGC TV station that he himself founded eleven years earlier.

González Camarena came to life in a car crash. His system was used in 1979 by the NASA on the Voyager mission to create and send Jupiter images.
