Jurjen Ferdinand Koksma (Schoterland, April 21, 1904 - Amsterdam, December 17, 1964) was a Dutch mathematician specialized in analytical number theory.

Career

Koksma graduated from Johannes van der Corput at the University of Groningen in 1930 at the dissertation on systems Diophantic inequalities. He was appointed professor at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam in 1930 and became the first professor of mathematics there. Koksma is one of the founders of the Mathematical Center (CWI).
