Peter Katz (Montreal, December 26, 1981) is a singer songwriter from Toronto, Canada.

On February 9, 2010, Katz launched his first solo album First of the Last to Know in The Netherlands. On his album, some guest musicians contribute, including Americana singer Melissa McClelland, Glen Hansard (The Swell Season, Once) and the Canadian folk group The Good Lovelies. In the song Oliver's Tune, Katz cites the fate of Canadian violinist Oliver Schroer, who plays his very last concert. Behind The Fence lies the true story of homosexual student Matthew Shepard, who was tied to a fence at night. The title number First of the Last to Know is intended for anyone struggling to live full of life.
