The 1988-89 edition of Segunda División B was the 12th Spanish soccer division of the third division to have this denomination. The championship saw the participation of 80 teams grouped into four groups. The first of each group was promoted to Segunda División while the last four and the worst quintulas were relegated to Tercera División.
