Tini Ruijs


Martinus Johannes Maria (Tini) Ruijs (Cuijk, May 8, 1957) is a Dutch former football player and current football coach.

Ruijs began his career as a JVC's 3131 juvenile attacker in youth. He switched to N.E.C. where he debuted in the 1975/76 season. In 1977 he went to Fortuna SC where he would play until 1986.

After that, Ruijs coached Fortuna's youth. In 1994 he became an interim head coach after the resignation of Chris Dekker. Ruijs then goes to the United Arab Emirates, becoming a coach in 2001. He also trained national youth teams and was trainer of the Al-Wahda FC and Al Ain FC clubs.

In 2011 he returned to Fortuna Sittard as a youth trainer. There he followed Wim Dusseldorp as head coach in January 2012. In the 2012/13 season he was head coach and trainer of the A1 Roda JC with which he won the first division. As of July 1, 2013, he went to MVV Maastricht after becoming an arbitration case, where he became a head coach. On December 20, 2013, he resigned after his wife and he were threatened by MVV fans after the cup defeat against JVC Cuijk's amateurs. His assistant Dick Voorn also saw it. Ruijs then trained the Belgian Riemst Vooruit and became SV Milner's trainer in early 2015. In December 2016 he was also appointed as assistant at Fortuna Sittard where he left again in March 2017.
