Water Tower (Leeuwarden Groningerstraatweg)


On the Groningerstraatweg is the new water tower. The tower was built by the Bredasche Concrete Society in 1925 and has a height of 36 meters. The contents of the reservoir are 1000 m³. This tower has now also been taken out of use and was converted into an apartment complex called Aquastate in 2002. The tower is in place eleven of the list of Leeuwarden's highest buildings.

The water tower at Groningerstraatweg in Leeuwarden was purchased for 1 guilder in 1999 by Leeuwarder Theo Douma who made plans for the current 9 apartments. 53° 12′ 41″ NB, 5° 48′ 46″ OL
